SANREMO 2018
Illustration for VICE

In February 2018, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase my artistic skills for Noisey, the renowned music section of Vice.com.

The project centered around the illustrious "Festival di San Remo," an iconic event in Italian music history.

My illustration portrayed a captivating visual narrative, featuring a striking contrast between tradition and modernity. A grand banner of flowers, symbolizing the essence of San Remo, served as the backdrop. Within this emblematic scene, two tattooed arms emerged, holding a vintage TV displaying a singer from the 60s crooning melodious tunes.

The artwork aimed to emphasize the dynamic coexistence of diverse musical genres within the festival's framework. It shed light on the tension between the traditional spirit of San Remo and the contemporary landscape of Italian music, characterized by blossoming alternative genres.

Through this illustration, I tried to convey the essence of a festival that bridges the gap between the past and the present, where the echoes of nostalgia blend harmoniously with the vibrancy of modern creativity.

Partnering with Noisey, I celebrated the rich heritage of Italian music while acknowledging the ever-evolving nature of the industry. This project reflects my commitment to exploring the intersections of art, culture, and music, evoking thought-provoking discussions about the evolution of our artistic heritage.
